Taking Care

August 31, 2010

Chemotherapy. Just the word sounds like napalm or terrorist. It’s so gross sounding (and feeling from what I’ve been told). Though it’s some of the hardest stuff in the world, I’m grateful for the time I have with my mom right now and the beauty of taking care of her in such an important and meaningful way; just as she does for us.

I love this photo of Mom—-circa 1980? I remember how Mom got all 6 of us (4 kids, Dad, and herself) all pretty for this photo shoot. And those flowers from the plumeria tree by our house. Hawaii is paradise, especially when you have a mother who teaches you the treasures, like plumerias in her red hair.

(wait, could be 70s-she is wearing the birks!)

Aww, Dana. So unbelievably sorry to hear that your mom is going through this. I can certainly relate and am here for you. Keeping your family in my thoughts. xo
